On November 14th, Bristol’s M Shed and experience design agency Nomensa will be hosting the UK branch of World Usability Day 2013.

World Usability Day aims to bring people together to work towards a common goal: ensuring that new technologies are developed to improve our lives and are easy to use and accessible to everyone.

The emphasis is on developing technologies to be “effective, efficient, satisfying and reliable” while still being easy to use. In other worlds developing “technologies in a way that serves people first”.

The day will see some of the country’s top UX experts speaking about user experience and design. Topics will range from designing an accessible BBC Olympics website to UX design for the internet of things to “some of the methods used by companies to simpleweb.co.ukindle and snare their users”.

Speakers will include:

Alistair Duggin – a Principal Web Developer at the BBC
Claire Rowland – Service Design Manager at AlertMe.com
Dan Klyn – Information Architect at The Understanding Group
Dylan Thomas – UX Consultant at Box UK
Jason Hobbs – Director of Information Architecture at Nomensa
Oli Shaw – Service Design Lead at FJORD, London
