OLIO Co-Founder Tessa accepting her award with Simpleweb’s Tom and Nick

A massive congratulations to OLIO who took home two SPARKies awards last night – the Good Award for the best use of technology for doing good and the People’s Choice, as voted for by the SPARKies audience!

OLIO – the free app which connects neighbours with each other and with local shops and cafes to share surplus food instead of throwing it away – launched in Bristol (and opened up nationally) in January 2016.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have won the Good Award and People’s Choice Award at the SPARKIES last night!” said OLIO co-founder Tessa Cook. “The recognition means a huge amount to us, and is incredibly motivating as we continue on our mission to stop the insanity of good food from being thrown away.”

And finally, a big shoutout to Ordable for their nomination for best app. The app was only released a few months ago and it’s amazing to see Ordable get some recognition in these early days.

We’re so proud of all of our portfolio companies. Here’s to many more like this!
