Woohoo! Two of our wonderful investments have been shortlisted for this year’s SPARKies awards – celebrating the best of tech in the South-West. We’re incredibly proud that half of the shortlisted Best Mobile Apps were built and invested in by Simpleweb. A huge shoutout out to our wonderful investments and talented team.
Ordable – a digital gateway to order and pay in advance at your favourite cafes and coffee shops – has been shortlisted for the Best Mobile App Award. We first teamed up with Ordable in September 2015 and we’re all really proud that Ordable is up for the award just 5 months after starting development!
OLIO – a free app which connects neighbours with each other and with local shops so that surplus food can be shared, not thrown away – are nominated for 4 awards; Best Mobile App, Best Startup, the ‘Good’ Award and People’s Choice. OLIO Co-Founder Tessa Cook is also up for Entrepreneur of the Year (against Simpleweb Co-Founder Mark Panay!)
We started development on OLIO back in April 2015, launching in Crouch-End in July, across London in December and around the UK in January 2016. It’s amazing to see Tessa and the OLIO team getting the recognition they deserve.
And finally Simpleweb has been shortlisted for the Best Digital Agency and Best Service Provider Awards. We’re really grateful to those who nominated us and our portfolio companies and here’s to hoping OLIO and Ordable sweep up!
