On August 13th 2014, startup accelerator Seedcamp will be holding its first ever event in Bristol. The event will be run in partnership with Bristol’s monthly meetup for entrepreneurs, South-West Founders, who we’re very proud to sponsor.

Seedcamp is a European startup accelerator, connecting entrepreneurs with the people they need, including seed investors, product experts, HR specialists, marketers, lawyers, recruiters, journalists and VCs. Seedcamp is the largest and longest running startup accelerator working in the UK, receiving over 2,000 applicants a year.

On 13th August, some of the Seedcamp family (including Seedcamp partner Carlos Espinal and local website editor startup and Seedcamp winners Basekit) will be joining us at South-West Founders.

Seedcamp Content Lead Mindy Day is excited to be bringing Seedcamp to Bristol…

“Bristol has a fantastic blend of art, engineering, design, and technology. There are so many incredible hardware and robotic businesses based in Bristol that have achieved great things, and now new companies are following suit. We are very excited to visit Bristol and have the chance to meet the interesting startup companies.”

During the meetup, Seedcamp partners, mentors and winners will give brief, 10 minute talks followed by a panel discussion and Q&A about the tech scene in Bristol and how Seedcamp works, with plenty of advice for Bristol startups.

South-West Founders organiser James Routley said:

“If you’ve ever been to a Seedcamp event you’ll know about the buzz in the room. These new startups come in with their brilliant ideas and a fantastic amount of energy. Although they’ve run events in cities all over Europe and beyond, Seedcamp rarely come out of London when in the UK so this is a unique opportunity to meet the team, hear from a local winner of the competition and see what all the fuss is about.

“This is also an opportunity for us all to showcase what’s on offer in Bristol, Bath and the surrounding area. There will be plenty of opportunity to mix with the Seedcamp team and I’m sure they’ll be impressed by what they find here.”

Everyone will be welcome to stick around after to talk to fellow founders as well as speakers, mentors and investors, with an open bar which we’re sponsoring alongside TLT Solicitors, Webstart Bristol, SETsquared and Eden Ventures.

If you’d like to come along, you’ll need to sign up through the Seedcamp Eventbrite page.

We’re at South-West Founders every month so come and say hello! Keep an eye on the Meetup page for upcoming events.
