We’re pleased to officially announce our partnership and work with mobility startup DOVU, backed by InMotion Ventures, Jaguar Land Rover’s investment arm, and Creative England, a fund backed by the UK Government.

In this announcement we delve into our work and partnership with DOVU over the past few years and how we became an important technical partner throughout and up to this present day.

DOVU are shaping the crypto model for the mobility ecosystem. A unified token, wallet and marketplace for earning and spending mobility related rewards. Citizens are able to earn DOV tokens for sharing their mobility data or by making small but important changes to travel behaviour. Citizens are then able to spend earned tokens on mobility related products and services within the DOVU ecosystem of selected partners.

DOVU initially came to us to use our technical expertise to help build their API gateway and marketplace for the mobility sector. Our blockchain team then helped develop and create their Whitepaper and was a technical partner throughout their initial coin offering (ICO) back in 2017, where they raised roughly $6.2 million.

Simpleweb’s blockchain team worked closely with DOVU post raise, spending six months conducting research and development into various cryptocurrency wallets and the possibilities and capabilities of smart contracts. The team were able to use the learnings from their research to create a blockchain based wallet for DOVU tokens and token holders on the Ethereum network. We then worked on a DOVU token reward platform for organisations to be able to reward customers with DOVU tokens, using anEthereum side-chain for improved usability and scalability

We’ve continued working closely with DOVU ever since, including helping them build out their tech teams and providing advice around their upcoming Security Token Offering (STO) in partnership with TokenMarket – this will be launching as one of the first FCA sandbox regulated tokenised crowdfunding campaigns in the UK.

Most recently DOVU became a founding member of the Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative, or MOBI, with major mobility car manufacturers and service providers, including Ford, General Motors, Renault, BMW, ZF and Bosch.

As commercial interest in blockchain and distributed ledgers continues to gain pace, we will be working closely with DOVU as a technology partner to help create blockchain solutions for commercial enterprises and help accelerate the adoption of blockchain and distributed ledger technology throughout the world.
