We’re super chuffed to have won the award for Best Digital Agency at the SPARKies. Having worked on 50% of the best app nominees, we were proud to support the wonderful OLIO and Ordable, but winning an award ourselves (and among such great competition!) really was the icing on the cake.

The irony is that we don’t consider Simpleweb to be an agency. We’re software developers, early-stage investors, inventors, but we’re not an agency. We like to do things a bit differently, not for the sake of it, but because we think it’s important to grow and adapt, to create real value and happiness, to explore new ground and help our clients and investments make a real difference.

It’s fitting then, that Mette Davis, Director of Digital & Regional Innovation at the Marketing Agencies Association, had this opinion about us being an agency…

“Simpleweb embodies the agency of the future, breaking the traditional agency model shackles in favour of a more entrepreneurial, collaborative approach. They operate as a true partner, thinking creatively about business challenges and working closely with startups and clients to bring products and services to life in innovative, meaningful ways”.

Regardless of whether or not we are one, we have nothing against agencies. Quite the opposite. We love teaming up with agencies with complementary skills to create cool products. We worked with employee engagement agency Home to help EMC with internal engagement and with Karian and Box to help BP communicate with their stakeholders. We even team up with techie agencies if it’s a good fit.

Thanks for the award, we’re really grateful. And finally, a big shoutout to TechSPARK for all their amazing work for the South-West tech scene. We’re really proud to be a part of it 🙂
