Android users need wait no longer – the awesome new food-sharing app OLIO for Android has just landed!

OLIO, which connects neighbours to exchange surplus food instead of wasting it, has been available on iOS for a month. Simpleweb and OLIO are super pleased to announce that, as of today, OLIO is available to Android users too.

The iOS version has also seen an update with OLIO v1.1 hitting the App Store this week. This is the first iteration of the OLIO MVP and, as well as squashing a few bugs, also includes the following updates:

  • Ability to sort items by distance from you
  • Red badge on the app icon to indicate notification count
  • Successful pickups can be shared direct to Facebook and Twitter

Saasha Celestial-One, Co-Founder of OLIO says:

“For a network to work it needs to be accessible to as many people as possible. Adding Android is a key milestone for OLIO as it makes the app available to an incremental 50% of the population in our launch area.”

OLIO is currently only available in London but will be expanding soon. Find out when OLIO will launch near you on olioex.com or join the food sharing revolution by getting the app on Google Play or the App Store.
