Coherent – a startup helping workspace operators manage their spaces and helping workspace members get the most of their memberships – has added new features to encourage collaboration and community within coworking spaces.

Coherent has been in private beta for the last year, working with some of Bristol and the South-West’s top shared workspaces to build the best system for Workspace Operators and their members. Coherent launched publicly in November 2016.

The last release of Coherent saw the addition of member profiles. Everyone who works in a coworking space can set up a personal profile, allowing members to search for and connect with people they might be able to collaborate with.

The latest release sees an Eventbrite integration and the introduction of browser notifications for Workspace Operators. This means that any events being run in the space can be shared with all members, who can RSVP within Coherent. Browser notifications can be used to send messages across the whole workspace. Whether it’s to invite members to an event or inform them of new policies, Workspace Operators are now able to alert their members in real time.

We first teamed up with Coherent in early 2015 to develop an MVP that would allow the team to test the product with real workspaces in private beta. Simpleweb invested in Coherent in 2016, following an oversubscribed crowdfunding round in the summer.

Simpleweb are continuing to work with Coherent as their technical partner, and recently helped them hire their first full-time developer. Watch this space to find out more about new releases or visit coherent.work to sign up now!
