We’re proud to announce that we’ve just teamed up with Giki – a not-for-profit startup empowering consumers with the information they need to make better decisions about the products they buy.

Giki was founded by Joanna and James Hand in early 2017.

Joanna began her career as a journalist for The Independent, before becoming a TV producer and director, directing the BBC Money Programme, documentaries and Channel 4 News. Joanna then moved into the charity sector and is currently on the board of trustees for The Funding Network who fund and assist charities.

James studied economics at Cambridge University, before becoming an Analyst at asset management firm, Schroders. He now acts as Co-Chief Information Officer at Investec Asset Management and is aiming to go full time on Giki.

Simpleweb are working with Giki to develop an app to help shoppers make smarter decisions and to provide a scoring and ranking mechanism to help consumers make more informed purchasing decisions.

Watch this space for new updates and help take a survey so they can develop the right app for you at iamgiki.co.
