The Simpleweb Challenge is back! After 3 amazing hacknights with TokBox, Pusher and Twilio, we’re excited to announce that the next hacknight will be sponsored by… Rusic!

We’ll be challenging you to build something cool (and maybe even useful) using the Rusic API. Rusic enables developers and designers to build complex social websites and applications quickly.

Rusic is an internal project at Simpleweb that has been around for years in one way or another. We originally built it as an idea generator with Wikipedia as the first user, and then ran a few successful hack nights many years ago.

Since then Rusic has been in dark mode, had a load of new features added, and been used to rapidly create many successful client projects (for Simpleweb), including projects for FatFace and the Forestry Commission.

This is our chance to show you what it is, what it’s capable of, and where it’s going. We think its pretty cool and we can’t wait to see what you use it for!

On the night you can expect to meet a bunch of cool techies and creatives, drink proper beers and ciders (soft drinks will be available too!), get a delicious, home cooked hot meal from GeekFeeder and maybe even win yourself a prize.

Rusic is suitable for front and back-end developers of all levels of experience, and Rusic experts will be on hand to provide support throughout the night.

Not a developer? Just leave a message on the Meetup group to find one you can team up with!

Check out what happened at our first Rusic hackathon back in 2012 here. And don’t forget to RSVP on Meetup. We hope to see you there!
