mygas

MyGas is a new iOS logbook app for trainee and consultant anaesthetists to track and log their procedures.

Trainee anaesthetists are required to log their procedures by the Royal College of Anaesthetists and our findings suggest frequently that consultants are also keeping track of their work for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) purposes.

The app was inspired by Co-Founder Tom Holder’s wife, Helen who is an anaesthetist. Like many anaesthetists, Helen had been logging her procedures using a similar application called iGasLog, which was working fine, until the autumn of 2013.

It soon became apparent that iGasLog was not supported by iOS7. With no support available from the iGasLog developers, many anaesthetists ended up losing their data, and the rest, including Helen, were stuck on iOS6.

Tom came to the rescue, and along with Simpleweb intern Jamie, began work on an application that would allow Helen and her peers to continue logging the data they needed, and allow their iPhones a much needed update.

MyGas allows anaesthetists to import data from iGas and create new logs quickly and easily. Users can log all data required by the RCoA and export and backup logs to cloud storage providers like Dropbox, and Google Drive.

MyGas also supports filtering of the logbook with simple report generation meeting the RCoA guidelines. These reports are easily exported to any cloud provider supported on iOS.
