We’re excited to announce that Simpleweb has recently teamed up with Memberoo – a SaaS startup helping businesses to connect, engage with and learn from their membership base.

Memberoo was founded by Emma Smith and Don Keir who first started working together back in 2013. With a background in community engagement for charities and the public sector, Emma knew better than anyone how difficult community engagement really is.

Emma decided to create an online space that would help businesses connect with their fans, and help consumers connect with the brands and groups they love. Through the University of Bath Innovation Centre, she met Don Kier, who had founded a tech startup, Sidonis Ltd, back in 2006. Together, in May 2013, they founded Envolve Technology and their adventure began.

Envolve’s first product was MyCommunity, a web app designed to host surveys within the public sector. MyCommunity helped several high profile campaigns, including the Parents Want a Say campaign that lobbied the government over controversial term-time holiday fines.

In August 2014, Envolve started hiring additional staff, and by the first week of January 2015, Envolve had a top floor office in the centre of Bath and four new members of the team. At this point, Emma and Don wanted to expand, taking what they had learned with MyCommunity and expanding outside the public sector.

In September 2015, Memberoo.net launched. Memberoo makes membership management easy and has been growing with this ethos ever since. Whether you are a coffee shop wanting to engage with your customers, a charity wanting to manage your volunteers or a council wanting to learn from your local community, Memberoo provides the perfect set of tools.

Memberoo’s adventure is only just starting. Emma, Don and the rest of the growing team have some really exciting ideas about the company’s next steps. Working closely with the customers who are already using the site, Memberoo is growing and quickly gaining momentum.

Simpleweb is working with Memberoo on a research and design sprint that will help to shape the future of the company and the tools it has to offer.
