Causr Connects Professionals On the Go

We’re excited to announce that Causr – a new app connecting people with others nearby – has just launched!

Opportunities for new connections are passed up every day and no one knows this better than Causr founder, James Eder. James, who previously co-founded the Beans Group (of studentbeans.com), is no stranger to the magic of random interactions. James is full of stories of times he plucked up the courage to speak to a stranger, only to find a common thread of interest that could be of benefit to them both.

It was one such encounter when James ended up hiring a recent graduate who he began speaking to after seeing him with his CV on the tube, that inspired James to create Causr.

We first teamed up with Causr in June 2016 to build an MVP that would get the app into the hands of real users. We’re pleased to say that the time has come and Causr is now available in the App Store!

Causr allows professionals to connect based on location. Simply log in to browse people near you and connect based on mutual interest. A freelancer working alone in a coffee shop? At the airport or on the way to a conference? Everywhere is an opportunity to create a new professional connection with Causr.

The app

Once you’ve downloaded Causr, signed in with LinkedIn, you can browse through a list of people based either on location (determined by proximity to their current location), or shared ‘groups’. Groups can be set up for anything from alumni of particular universities, entrepreneurs in your area or private groups for employees of certain companies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Users simply have to send a connection request to get the conversation started. Once your connection has accepted your request, you’ll be able to message freely to arrange a time and place to meet.

Set a status letting others see when and where you’ll be free to meet up. Users can choose to timeout a status after a set amount of time so if you know you’ve only got half an hour free, you can set your status to delete in half an hour.
