We are proud to have brought Safr into the world this year with their first MVP launch back in April.

Founded by ex-RAF pilot Jason Eden, Safr has created an app that helps drivers manage alertness levels so that they can make safer decisions on the road.

Between Simpleweb’s investment and grant money from the Department for Transport, Safr was able to create an app that uses Fitbit data to assess users’ sleep patterns and uses cumulative sleep data to forecast users’ alertness levels throughout the day. This year, Safr has been trialled by a number of businesses that work with large numbers of drivers, including a national builders merchants, a global aeronautics company and a major courier firm.

Safr joined Telefonica’s startup accelerator, Wayra, this year and will be leveraging that to meet potential new partners and find further funding. Next year, Safr are aiming to get their product ready for public launch. Watch this space to find out more!
